Brigid’s Cross

The Celtic goddess Brigid is associated with Imbolc, Christianised as Saint Bridget of Kildare. Traditionally at Imbolc, crosses were woven out of rushes or straw and hung over doors or windows to protect the home and bring blessings for the year to come.
